FAQs
FAQs
What can I expect when I book my first treatment?
Once we have arranged an appointment time and location for your treatment, I will send you confirmation email or WhatsApp message, which will contain an online consultation form about your medical history and lifestyle, which will help me to suggest a treatment plan for you. To minimise face to face contact and maximise treatment time, I may ask for a 10 minute consultation with you on the phone or Zoom before you come in for your massage. The message will also contain information about how to pay in advance and directions for the location of the massage.
Why do you need to take my medical history?
Massage is generally safe for most people but there are some conditions which contraindicate massage massage. Understanding your medical history is important to help me to provide a treatment plan that will promote good health.
How am I protected against Covid-19?
Client confidence and safety is very important to me and I consult professional guidance set out by the Council for Soft Tissue Therapies with regards to minimising risk in relation to Covid-19. I will ask you to confirm that you and no one else in your household is displaying symptoms and will not give treatments if I anyone in my own household are displaying any symptoms. I will minimise face to face contact as far as possible through the use of an online consultation form and taking contactless payment. All hygiene protocols will be followed and I will wear a mask for the treatment. Whilst protocols are in place to minimise risk for face-to-face appointments, I cannot guarantee there is no risk.
What kind of massage do you do?
I hold an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Massage (distinction) , and have a range of techniques that I can apply as needed, including deep tissue massage. I am also qualified to give pregnancy massage.
How can I be assured of your professionalism and qualifications?
I am a full member of the Complementary Therapists Association, which is the leading professional association representing sports, spa and complementary therapists in the UK and Ireland. I have completed an ITEC Level 2 in Infection Prevention and am First Aid trained.
How do I pay?
Ideally, clients pay in advance of the treatment. This can be via bank transfer, or card payment over the phone. Or, I can accept cash or a card payment on the day if necessary. I will send the payment links in my email correspondence, prior to the treatment.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let me know asap and I will of course do my best to reschedule. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, 50% of the cost of the massage is payable. If you do not attend your appointment, the full amount is payable.
